It has been over a year since we have been to Mudgee but it was such a wonderful place, I had to share my tips with you. I am looking for any excuse to get us back out there.....if anyone can think of one?
The range of accommodation in the area is amazing but we stayed at the Perry St Hotel and it was GORGEOUS!
They have transformed the historic Mechanics Institute from 1862 into 13 boutique suites. Every where you look there are elements of the beautiful original features mixed with the stylish design of the new.....

Now, to the wine......We only had time to go to two Vineyards but they were both Breathtaking!!
Logan Wines cellar door is a beautiful piece of architecture...I could have spent all day tasting wines, lying on the grass, walking around the building taking photos and eating cheese plates. They even have live music on weekends..

Next on the wine tasting trail, is the stunning cellar door of Lowe Wines. A completely different style of cellar door than Logan but once again a place where you could spend the day tasting, nibbling, enjoying the sunshine and taking in the environment. I am no wine buff, I like what I like....both of these vineyards had plenty of tasty wine options to tantalise my taste buds! Lowe's wines are certified organic and also have a wine walk and cycle trail where you can explore the property and even meet the farm animals.
After all of that wine tasting and lying in the sunshine, you will be pekish. We tried to cover as many restaurants and café's during our stay....these are our favourites but there are so many more in the Mudgee area.
Wineglass Bar and Grill
The Butcher Shop Cafe
Mudgee Brewing Co
There are also quite a few shopping options in Mudgee....be sure to have a little look at Juliet Horsley and Loft Furniture.
There is so much more on offer in this pretty little town....can't wait to go back....
